Young Adults
That moment when you’re looking for an adult, but you realize you are an adult. So you look around for an older adult. Someone who is “better” at adulting than you.
Being a young adult can look like so many things but it all occurs in the blink of an eye. It can mean being in college, starting your first job, getting married, or living away from home. It is a time filled with uncertainty, possibilities, identity exploration, and the feeling of being in-between.
The Transition to Adulthood
The transition from young adult to independent adult now takes more time than it did in the past. However, even if we know this, it can become very easy to compare where we are in life to those around us. Some people spend this time focusing and prioritizing education. Some people will join the work force. Others may settle down and start a family. We face this enormous pressure to figure it all out— know what we want to do and who we are. It can feel like we don’t have room to make mistakes or change our mind.
Therapy can challenge you, help you grow, boost your confidence, and help you discover and become the best version of yourself.
